Today we moved out of our quaint little rooms in St Petersburg to a getto little hotel in Povlosk. I ofcorse was packed and board by 3am so I took pictures of myself hahah. They came out really nice actually.
We left our hotel at nine and went to a church service. It was Russian Orthodox. It was beautiful. (I’m leaving out my whole journal entry about my opinions of Orthodoxy but feel free to ask me).
Then we went to the Siege Memorial. Not really interesting just a cultural thing. During WWII St. Petersburg was held by the Nazi’s and they cut off all the supplies to the city. Like 1.5 million people died just the first winter and it lasted 3 whole years.
We went to a little store to get water and chocolate… that was intense lol. The Chocolate here has air bubbles in it for some reason
Then we had a 45 min bus ride to Pavlosk where I am now. I got here and been told they had the rooms 4 girls to a room so I’d have a room mate but then they said I’d have to be by myself again which was lame but w/e right… then it turned out that didn’t work either. So I got stuffed in a 2 person room IDK if you can imagine how little these rooms where but it was crazy. I picked to be in Lisa and Emilys room. I hardly knew them so it was kind of random. I know it’s not true but I kinda feel like they don’t want me in here. I really wanna go outside. We’ve been walking outside it’s not the same as running swinging and climbing trees.
I can’t wait to start the actual mission work Tuesday. I’m Pumped.

So I keep waking up with Red Eyes I hate it… it’s a pain. Saturday the 14th Today we went to an art museum, the Hermitage, which was actually a old palace. Omgosh it was SOOOOO beautiful. The art was cool but it wasn’t what I was looking at. I can’t even describe it, there were rooms coated in gold and this staircase right out of Beauty and the Beast. Some of the pieces were really cool too. Anyways then we went to the “church of the spilled blood” It’s beautiful. I’m not going to attempt to describe it either because I did take pictures. Then we went to the market which was crazy we bartered and stuff it was nutty. Meghan was really good at it. She did a lot of the bartering for me. I got a really pretty doll I <3 my doll.

Friday the 13th cool aye?
Kay so today was awesome we toured the city and stuff. The architecture here is AMAZING and there maybe more statues here then in DC but they all are of Peter the Great and Lenin or are memorials of WWII victories. They all look a lot the same.
So… it’s 8:30 everybody’s in there rooms for a half hour which puts me in here alone.

So we left the Dayton Airport at 6:40 took a small plane about the size of the one on the way home from Boston, to Detroit. It turns out that I’m the oldest girl who wasn’t a chaperone. There are nine girls two to a room, it’s against the rules for this group to have a chaperone in the same room as a kid so I guess I’m sleeping alone atleast 3 nights in St Petersburg.
I don’t want to uhg!
So right now I’m on my 9 hour flight from Detroit. I’m happy the sunset is is beautiful and the girl I’m sitting next to Meghan, is really full of energy which is fun. Kay so it’s getting really bumpy so I’m stopping for now

12 am still on that wretched plane I watched the Other Boylen Sister and am now watching 27 dresses Uhg Plane food= Nasty

2:01am Still on the plane. Getting sick of it 3hrs left and a whole other plane.

3:30am Still on that plane OMG. Breakfast=frozen Solid… oh and the suns been up since 2am. Can’t find my Camara, Can’t move around, sick of this plane.

K, so I’m off the plane we had 45min lay over then we got on this plane it’s 825 Ohio time and I slept maybe an hour.

Wretched flying Machine has finally stopped 930 OH time. It’s beautiful up here, It was a good 15 hours to get here though

So as we landed of coarse it started raining. Duh lol. This place is enchanting though. We went for a walk at 1030 and it looked like it was 7 it was fun. It’s almost 12 now and I’m just now watching the sunset. I’m already sick of the girls I thought I’d be closest too. Why can’t they just soak in where we are instead of hanging all over Will H.
I’m a little upset though today is Russia day meaning theres a fireworks display but it’s at 2am and I’m not allowed to go. Gr.
Note to self… people are snogging all over this city it’s like the city of love or something.
